ENGLAND: The Government has allocated the third round of funds to make significant upgrades to England's most dangerous roads. (Reported by news source)

Roads from the Isle of Wight to Newcastle will now undergo improvements in an effort to reduce fatalities and serious injuries.

The programme entails focused minor repairs including redesigning intersections and enhancing road markings and signage.

Local councils across the nation have the help they require to maintain public safety while lowering traffic and emissions and boosting regional economies.

The 50 most hazardous roads in England have received £100 million in funding so far through the scheme, most of which are rural roads.

The 50 local "A road" sections in England that were considered to be at the highest danger were the focus of the Safer Roads Fund program’s earlier rounds. Over the next 20 years, the plan is expected to avert about 1,450 fatalities and serious injuries.
