MANCHESTER: UK homeowners are being informed of a property regulation that, if disregarded, carries a hefty £100,000 fine. Although many individuals are unaware of the rule's existence, it is estimated that some 500,000 properties across the nation require expensive repair to ensure they comply with the requirement. Real estate professionals are currently alerting homeowners to a new legislation that, if disregarded, may have serious financial and environmental consequences. A new law pertaining to septic tanks and the manner in which they discharge waste, their state of maintenance, and the appropriateness of their size went into effect in January 2015.

According to estimates, 500,000 homes in the UK, mostly those in rural regions, use septic tanks, which are subterranean chambers through which domestic waste is channeled. The new regulation was created to lessen the negative environmental effects that sewage has on rivers and other waterways in the UK.
