Scotland Has the UK's Fastest-Moving Real Estate Markets

SCOTLAND: Falkirk is the UK's fastest-moving housing market. Falkirk is a Scottish town located roughly halfway between the main cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. (Reported by news source)

The average time it takes to find a buyer for a house in the area is presently 22 days, which is substantially faster than the nationwide average of 55 days, according to the online property marketplace.

In fact, Scotland had seven of the top 10 fastest-moving markets in the United Kingdom, albeit all of them had slowed down relative to last year.

The second fastest market is Broxburn in West Lothian, a town outside of Edinburgh, where homes normally sell in 23 days. Renfrew in Renfrewshire, to the west of Glasgow, came in third with properties selling in 24 days.

London, meanwhile, now has the slowest-moving market, with homes needing 65 days on average to find a buyer.

Mr. Bannister said that they may have been deterred by the chaotic market conditions of this time last year, when the average time to locate a buyer was close to a record low.
