EDINBURGH: A proposal of application notice was sent to the City of Edinburgh Council on the potential for significant construction at the border between Edinburgh and East Lothian. (Reported by news source)

A planned 220-home town in Edinburgh has plans that have been submitted, and officials may approve them. The currently undeveloped area at Newcraighall, north of 14 Glennie Road, has been designated for the new construction.

Developers have said that the land would include both residences and apartment buildings. It is situated next to Queen Margaret University and is adjacent to the main east coast train route.

The development would have a combination of "one-two and three-bedroom community flats," totaling an estimated 220 units.

The land would also see the construction of a variety of townhouses with three, four, and five bedrooms, all of which would have parking.

On-site amenities for residents would include open green spaces, refuge stores, and bicycle storage.
