Fourth phase of Pennywell Living property receives approval in Edinburgh

EDINBURGH: Planning approval has been granted for the construction of 94 new houses for sale at Urban Union's Pennywell Living complex in North Edinburgh. (Reported by news source)

The fourth and last phase of the development will consist of the new residences, and construction is expected to start in April 2023. In addition to a number of full-time apprenticeships, the construction of Phase 4 is expected to sustain a number of direct and indirect jobs through Urban Union, its subcontractors, and suppliers.

The City of Edinburgh Council's long-term regeneration plans for North Edinburgh include Pennywell Living, which seeks to build nearly 1000 mixed-tenure houses alongside improved neighbourhood facilities. 585 new mixed-tenure homes have already been delivered by Urban Union, and 315 more are almost finished in Phase 3 alone.

To provide inhabitants additional options, Urban Union and the City of Edinburgh Council are collaborating closely with the neighbourhood of Pennywell. The 'Creative Community Chest' was most recently introduced in October. The £3,000 fund aims to assist small-scale community initiatives that provide residents with innovative and interesting material.
