LONDON: Contracts have been issued between Network houses and Countryside Partnerships to start building 654 houses and commercial buildings in Brent, North London. (Reported by news source)

The remaining 50% will be private sales or rent with the proceeds going towards the construction of further affordable housing for those in need of it.

1,600 new houses will eventually be built as part of the broader rehabilitation of the former hospital site in Northwick Park, delivered over several phases.

Over 19 structures on the property, the large project will also contain student facilities, commercial space, and a new nursery.

A collaboration between Network Homes, London North West Healthcare NHS Trust, Brent Council, and the University of Westminster is bringing about the complete renovation of Northwick Park.

David Gooch, Executive Director for Development at Network Homes, said: "I'm really happy we've exchanged contracts with Countryside to get this fantastic project started."
