Buchanan House in Glasgow will get a residential-focused mixed-use development

GLASGOW: Initial proposals for the reconstruction of Glasgow's vacant Buchanan House on Port Dundas Road have been submitted. (Reported by news source)

The site will be redeveloped with a residential-led, mixed-use development, set within a framework of new public realm and soft landscaping, in place of the 1960s office block, according to a proposal of application notice (PoAN) submitted by Keppie Design on behalf of Global Mutual/Davidson Kempner.

near 58 Port Dundas Road, in the larger Cowcaddens neighborhood, Buchanan House is located near the northern entrance to the city centre. In 2022, the last occupants vacated the property.

The development would complement Port Dundas Road's proposed "Avenues Project" by Glasgow City Council, and it would provide new access with parking for cars and bicycles, public and private public realm and amenity areas, and related ancillary development.
